LifeWatch ("we", "our", or "the app") is a life-countdown app that helps you visualize your remaining lifespan. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and how it is stored.

Data We Access

LifeWatch requests read-only access to the following data from Apple Health (HealthKit), with your explicit permission:

• Step Count — used to calculate a daily wellness bonus. Days with 10,000+ steps add 0.1 days to your life estimate.

The app also stores the following data locally on your device:

• Your date of birth
• Your selected region / nationality
• Optional custom lifespan or target date

How Data Is Used

• Step count data is used solely to compute the wellness bonus displayed in the app. It is never used for advertising, analytics, or any other purpose.
• Your birth date and region are used to calculate your life expectancy and remaining time. This calculation happens entirely on your device.

Data Storage & Sharing

All data is stored locally on your device. LifeWatch does not have a server, does not use a backend, and does not transmit any personal data over the internet.

• No account or registration is required.
• No data is shared with third parties.
• No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs are included.

Data is shared between the main app and its home screen widget using Apple's App Groups mechanism — this sharing occurs entirely on-device.

HealthKit

LifeWatch uses Apple's HealthKit framework to read step count data. This data is never sold, disclosed to third parties, or used for advertising. We comply with Apple's HealthKit developer guidelines.

Children's Privacy

LifeWatch does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. The app does not contain any features directed at children.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
